December '17 Student of the Month

It's December, and the holidays are here! We'd like to congratulate our student of the month, Maddie! Maddie is a sophomore at St. Mary High School. She has played the cello for five years and originally started in the sixth grade under the teaching of Patty Story. She has studied with Bob Story for two years. Maddie likes the pieces she has been playing recently, particularly the Vivaldi Sonata in e minor. She also enjoys playing contemporary movie music. November '17 Student of the Month

October is finally here and the weather is getting cooler! We are so thrilled to introduce our student of the month, Madisyn! Madisyn is a 7th grader at South Marshall Middle. She has been playing violin for three years and is a student of Clay Campbell. She has competed in both the Tennessee Fiddlers Competition as well as the Clarksville Fiddlers Competition. Last year she played at the ROMP bluegrass festival and even took a lesson from Craig Duncan, a member of the North American Fiddler’s Hall of Fame! Congratulations, Madisyn!

September Student of the Month

"Music is the poetry of the air." - Jean Paul Richter Summer is winding down, and we're back to school! We're happy to announce our student of the month, Jenna. Jenna is home-schooled and is in the 6th grade. She has been playing violin for five years, and studies with both Kathy Gardner and Josh Coffey. Her favorite music to play is classical, especially from the Suzuki method. Her favorite piece is the Bach Concerto for Two Violins. Emily is a junior at St. Mary and has been playing violin since she was in 3rd grade. She was inspired to learn violin after watching her older sister Caitlin play. "Those who wish to sing always find a song" -Swedish Proverb June is upon us, and we are so happy to present our new student of the month, Scout! Scout attends Lone Oak Middle School. She has been playing cello since December and takes lessons from Brittney Washam here at Symphony Supply. Scout was intrigued with cello after watching the movie, "If I Stay," where she heard a cello being played and instantly wanted to learn for herself.
